Business Owner
Paula’s entry in the business world was launched in 1975 when she was faced with the possibility of having to be the primary financial support for her family. Paula’s husband was diagnosed with a serious medical issue that threatened his ability to work. Faced with this family crisis, Paula returned to school and obtained a real estate license in order to financially provide for her family. Thankfully, her husband’s health improved and he made a full recovery, but Paula’s business career was launched.
Paula made the most of her newfound career and became a very successful agent in the Arlington and Grand Prairie area for the next thirty-five years. Paula is a member of both the National and Texas Board of Realtors. She was elected as a Director for the Arlington Board of Realtors from 1985 through 1993, and in 1990 she was honored to serve as Vice-President of this outstanding organization. In 2000, Paula founded Expedited Recovery, Inc. (“ER”) to provide services to healthcare providers and their patients. The work of ER ensured that patients gained access to all programs for which they were eligible, and ensured that local hospitals received payment for services (payment that would otherwise have been uncollected).
As a successful businesswoman, Paula has an acute appreciation for the needs of local businesses. Recognizing Paula as a strong advocate for business, President Clinton appointed Paula to the National Advisory Committee of the United States Small Business Administration in 1997. Paula also has the distinction of being a Life Member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and is a member of both the Grand Prairie and Greater Arlington Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.
