Community Service

Paula Pierson involved in community service.Paula began her 40 years of community service in Arlington by volunteering with her children’s schools and with the AISD to make sure our public education system was the best it could be. Paula served with the Arlington PTA for eighteen years, as a room mother, on the Band, Football and Cheer booster clubs and also on the Arlington Independent School District Task Force on Athletics. In 1990 Paula coordinated the drug- and alcohol-free prom party at Arlington High School.

Paula’s dedication to children and children’s issues has been at the core of her commitment to public service.  Noting a lack of local resources for victims of child abuse, Paula helped found the Alliance for Children in 1990 to address this urgent need.   Since then, Arlington’s Alliance for Children has been a safe haven of kindness, counseling and care for over 25,000 child abuse victims.
