My Commitment

Today, I received several calls urging me to run for US Congress in the newly-drawn 33rd Congressional District. While I certainly appreciate the faith expressed by those supporters, I remain committed to serving my friends and neighbors as their State Representative in Texas House District 93, where I have lived and worked for more than 40 years.  I won’t let the politics of opportunity take precedence over fulfilling the commitment I made to the citizens of District 93 when I was first elected to represent them in the Texas House – to fight for our public education system and make it the best it can be, to secure high quality jobs for our residents and to make District 93, my home, the safest and best place to live, work and raise a family.
